We are counting down to National Signing Day 2014 by putting the spotlight on 25 of Metro Atlanta’s top prospects as they choose their college destinations. These athletes will be recognized for their outstanding varsity careers throughout Score Atlanta’s record breaking coverage of the Peach State’s signees. #NSDFrenzy

Nick Ruffin committed to Auburn May 25 before his senior season at St. Pius Catholic school and became one of the highest ranked recruits in the state by the end of the season, finishing as the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state according to 247sports. Ruffin competed in the Army All American Bowl this year and he increased his stock with a great game and week of practice. Ruffin is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back that has the speed and quickness to play cornerback or safety in college.

The playmaking ability of Ruffin is one of the many intangibles the hardworking gamechanger brings to the football field. Ruffin was the Golden Lions’ workhorse and top offensive weapon his junior season when they went all the way to the state championship and continued sparking highlight reel runs out of the backfield his senior season as well.
