Northgate LB Braxtyn Davies commits To UAB

An underrated linebacker throughout most of his preparatory career, but someone who continued to put his head down and grinded to where he is today. The relationship with the Blazers started after the season two months before National Signing Day in February. Davies picked up an offer from UAB in late December right before Christmas, and continued building the relationship with the coaching staff.

Davies finished his senior season with 143 tackles, seven tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. One of his best games came against Morrow, where he finished with 20 tackles in a close defeat. He also finished with 19 tackles, including 15 solo tackles against Lovejoy. He had five games this past season with 15+ tackles registered.

He finished his high school career with 342 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and an interception. He was named an All-Classification player after a stellar season on the gridiron. Davies was also named all-state and was a multiple all-region selection during his prep career.

When you see him play on the field, you immediately see his high football IQ, always being in the right spot to make a play. Davies watches a ton of film and uses it to blow up plays and make a living in opposing teams’ backfields. Each season, he improved his craft, adding a layer to his game. It was on display during his senior year, posting a career-high in tackles despite playing in fewer games in prior seasons.

Davies is not just a football player, and is very intelligent off the field. He has a 4.1 GPA and has a very bright future in all avenues of life. His story is just getting started, and he has the potential to turn a lot of heads at the next level.
