North Gwinnett and Haralson County waited an extra day to finish seasons but after outclassing the field in their respective classes, the programs finished atop the podium to bring the GHSA Game Day Cheer season to a close at the Civic Center in Columbus.
North Gwinnett scored 93.67 points to win the Class 6A championship ahead of Collins Hill (91.90), East Coweta (91.60) and Carrollton (90.30). The Bulldogs scored 46 points in the crowd leading portion and 47.67 points in the band chant and fight song section to win the title.
North Gwinnett qualified for the finals with the seventh-best points total (187.75) behind qualifiers Collins Hill (198.4), East Coweta (195.9), Richmond Hill (194.85), West Forsyth (191.1), Parkview (190.05) and Carrollton (189).
Haralson County beat out second-place Toombs County by one point (95-94) to secure the Class A championship, finishing ahead of Toombs, Heard County (92.53), Vidalia (91.83) and Model (90.3). The Lady Rebels scored 47.87 points in the crowd leading portion and 47.13 points in the band chant and fight song section on the path to the title.
The team placed fourth in the qualification phase on the championship with 190.8 points behind Vidalia (194.9), Heard County (194.5) and state runner-up Toombs County (190.85).
