NCC falls to fellow first-year football program

The Eagles learned another hard lesson after losing to Allatoona 34-31 on Friday night. The team fell behind 34-7 and made a remarkable comeback, falling just short. North Cobb Christian scored 24 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. “We just ran out of time,” said head coach Terence Lott. The loss came despite 210 yards rushing from running back Chas Collett and two touchdowns from quarterback Denovellis. Even in the loss, first-year coach Lott remains positive. “It was a great game, we’re still learning every week.”… The softball team has won its last two games by a combined score of 20-2. Pitchers Kaitlin Hollenbeck and Stephanie Berry have combined to allow only 10 runs in their past six games. … In other NCC action, the volleyball team dropped its first area match to Lovett (25-13,25-10). The team travels to Forsyth Central on Thursday. … The cross country teams competed at the Marist Double Dip Invitational last week. Erin McAnnally was the top girl and finished 20th overall with a time of 21:49. The boys were paced by David White, who had a time of 21:34.
