The threat of weather pushed several series in the GHSA baseball state playoffs to Monday night with hopes of avoiding any postponements. In the state’s highest classification, Woodstock defeated Parkview 4-3 in the first game. Game 2 was hardly fought and after going to extra innings tied at 1, Parkview scored three runs in the top of the eighth and finished the game 5-1 to force a Game 3. The Brookwood-Mill Creek series will have a third game after Mill Creek came back to win the second game 6-4 in 11 innings. In Class AA, Benedictine forced a decisive Game 3 after losing the first game 10-0. The Cadets fought back to win the second game 7-0. Game 3, weather permitting, will be Tuesday afternoon. In Class AAA, Lovett took Game 1 over Morgan County 13-3 and took a 5-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning in Game 2.
