Senior quarterback Chelsea Njoku is 234-of-401 passing for 2,957 yards and 51 touchdowns and has led McEachern to a 17-0 overall record and a 5-0 record in Division 4, Area 3.

And after a 20-0 victory against Calvary Day – where Njoku was 17-of-24 passing for 165 yards and a touchdown – she overtook Division 1 No. 4 Columbus’ quarterback Serenity Hickman as the state’s passing leader.

Albeit narrowly.

It’s a tight race at the top and if looking at yardage, Njoku is the leader and is 234-of-401 passing for 2,957 yards and 51 touchdowns on the season.

Hickman, who has helped lead Columbus to a 15-5 record, is 210-of-323 passing for 2,942 yards and 60 touchdowns. She is coming off a season-high in a 45-6 victory against Northside-Columbus on Nov. 7 where she was 18-of-22 passing for 256 yards and six touchdowns.

Katie Smith – Division II, No. 1 Locust Grove’s star quarterback — leads in passing touchdowns with 63 and is 257-of-371 passing for 2,849 yards. She was 27-of-34, passing for 314 yards and six touchdowns in a 39-6 victory against Griffin on Oct. 29. She passed for a season-high seven touchdowns in a 67-0 victory against Stockbridge on Oct. 15.

In Class A Division 3, then-No. 2 Milton moved past then-No. 1 Blessed Trinity 28-27 to take over the top spot in the league. Milton is 15-4 and will play Centennial on the road Wednesday, while Blessed Trinity is 12-2 and will travel to Chattahoochee.
