The football team was shut out 30-0 by Collins Hill on Friday Oct. 24. The Hawks turned the ball over four times, including three fumbles. Ramael Wilson rushed for 46 yards on 10 carries. The Hawks defeated Northview 56-14 last Friday, scoring 35 unanswered points in the second half. They finish the season this Friday at South Forsyth. … The softball team defeated East Coweta 3-2 on Saturday Oct. 25 to win the Class 5A state championship. The team had eight seniors, including Florida State-bound Morgan Bullock, who pitched a no hitter into the seventh inning, and Georgia-bound shortstop Amberlie Saxton, who scored the Hawks’ first run. “Our seniors had a goal from the beginning and worked hard to achieve it,” said head coach Kelly Murdock. Hannah Graham, Lauren Stimis, and Saxton were named to the East Atlanta All-Star Team for the Georgia Dugout Club Senior All-Star Games, which will be played this Friday and Saturday. … The boys cross country team finished fifth in the Region 7-AAAAA championship last Saturday. Austin Boetje led with a time of 16:46. The girls finished fourth. Brit Westmoreland led with a time of 19:38.
