This Friday through Sunday, head out to the Village Shoppes at Creekside in Duluth for Atlanta’s biggest autograph event of the year. By bringing a $10 gift donation for Toys for Tots, you can meet athletes and Atlanta celebrities such as Otis Nixon, Phil Niekro, Tommy Nobis, Sam Baker, William Andrews, Miss Georgia 2009, and many, many more. And it’s all for a worthy cause.
Doug Reed, owner of Venture Sports, is putting on the 10th such event this year, and says that in these hard economic times, Toys for Tots needs gift donations now more than ever. He mentions the specific need for young girls’ toys, ages 8-16, as a need for the organization. Attendees of the event need to bring a toy of approximately $10 in value to the event, which runs this Friday through Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily) in order to receive an autograph ticket for one athlete. You can receive as many autograph tickets for as many toys you bring, Reed says.
