The War Eagles tallied a 164 to beat second-place Johns Creek, which shot a 155, and third-place Lambert, which carded a 153 in the Stableford format tournament. Woodward Academy took fourth by shooting a 148 and Lovett scored a 144. St. Pius X came in 11th but received a solid performance from Garrett Bernhardt, who shot a 75. … Etowah’s boys team took second in the Hardaway Invitational over the weekend in Columbus in one of the bigger golf tournaments of the week. The Eagles shot a 616 to come in second behind Columbus, which totaled 604. Milton took sixth in the tournament while Etowah’s No. 2 squad came in 10th. Northview finished 19th and Centennial came in 20th out of the remaining metro Atlanta schools in the event. Nick Budd led Etowah by shooting a 150. … Westminster has won two tournaments this season, most recently at the Vidalia Invitational April 5, and have been led by seniors Tripp H’Doubler and Jackson Henzel. H’Doubler will play golf at Missouri next season while Henzel will play for Baylor. … The Woodward Academy boys beat Lovett 154-164 Thursday to improve to 4-0 in dual matches this season. … With their victory on April 1, the Dunwoody boys won their fifth county title in a row while the Lakeside girls won their second in a row. It was Dunwoody’s 11th county title overall and Lakeside’s fifth. Senior Ryan Elmore led all golfers with a 71 while Sarah Kuranga of Columbia shot a 79 to win the girls tournament. … Hillgrove defeated Marietta and Campbell Tuesday at Marietta Country Club. The Hawks shot a 157 to runner-up Marietta’s 185 and Campbell’s 211. Junior Taylor Mottern shot a 36 and sophomore Tyler Cunningham carded a 39. Hillgrove improved to 13-3 with the victory.
