Lions correct ‘mistakes made last week’ in two-point victory

At 1-1, the football team welcomed McNair last Friday and this time earned a result its fans could handle. After suffering a disappointing 24-21 loss to North Cobb in Week 2, the Lions came out on the opposite end of another nailbiter, defeating McNair 23-21. Cameron Myers, King’s junior quarterback, greatly contributed to the winning effort, scoring two touchdowns in the game. Running back Matt Brown also contributed in the Lions’ victory, rushing for a touchdown of his own. Before the action, Lions head coach Corey Jarvis had specific concerns, “mainly to focus, and to correct the mistakes that we made last week,” and the Lions did well to satisfy their coach. Next up for the football team is Region 2-AAAAA opponent Luella, who is currently 2-0 on the year. “We can take some positive stuff out of this game, but we still have a lot of things to work on,” Jarvis said when asked about this week’s matchup. … The softball team lost twice last week, first on Tuesday against Newton

(19-2) and again on Saturday against Greenbrier (15-0).
