Ousmane Kromah was a different breed on Friday night in primetime on Peachtree TV. He rushed for 327 yards and four touchdowns against Houston County, who gave up their highest scoring total all year (44). Kromah scored on the first play from scrimmage and would set the tone with his 60 yard plus rushing touchdown. Kromah did so while nursing a strained calf. He talked about what allowed him to power through it and help his team.
“I prayed before I got on the field. I am a Muslim. I feel like God got me through it,” said Kromah. “I was feeling a little hurt at the beginning but that’s just the power of God. He put me through that.”
“Ousmane was probably only at about 75%. He battled a strained calf all last week and he could barely walk in the morning,” said Lee County head coach Dave Fabrizio. “We got it rolled out and our trainers did a great job and there was no way we were going to keep him out of that game. Ousmane Kromash at 75% is better than almost everybody at 100%.”
Coming into the region matchup against Houston County, Kromah had rushed for 586 yards and eight touchdowns. He had three 100 yard rushing games this season against Warner Robins, Hapeville Charter, and Colquitt County. He is an integral part of the Trojans offense and can beat you in a multitude of ways. A game where he displayed the total package was against Lake Gibson (FL). In the game against the Braves, Kromah had five catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns (leading all receivers). He is not only a weapon in the backfield but also in the passing game.
One of his memorable moments in the game on Friday came in the red zone with less than two minutes left in the game. It looked like Kromah was stopped by the defense and it would be a short gain, but he kept driving his legs and scored an unforgettable highlight reel touchdown.
Kromah is a heavily touted prospect in the 2025 class and is ranked as the #5 running back in the country and top 15 player in the state of Georgia, according to 247sports. He is certainly one of the best players in the country and proved it against a rival opponent on the big stage.
