Lassiter continued to climb in the boys Class AAAAAA poll after a win over No. 9 Roswell last week. The Trojans moved up to No. 1. Mill Creek dropped from No. 3 to No. 6 after a loss to Alpharetta. No. 2 Milton knocked off previous No. 1 Centennial 18-16 Friday, dropping the Knights to No. 3. Walton returns to the rankings at No. 10. In boys Class A-AAAAA, No. 1 Northview kept its spot at the top of the poll with victories over Cambridge and No. 5 Blessed Trinity last week. Holy Innocents’ moved up to No. 6 from No. 9 after a win over No. 8 Whitefield Academy while Lovett dropped to No. 7. Decatur stayed at No. 2 in the boys poll.
In the girls Class AAAAAA poll, No. 1 Milton scored a win over No. 10 Etowah while No. 3 Walton handed No. 8 Lassiter a 14-5 decision. No. 2 Centennial, No. 4 Mill Creek and No. 5 West Forsyth round out the top five. The Wolverines knocked off No. 6 Chattahoochee 12-6 last Tuesday. No. 7 Kennesaw Mountain and No. 9 Peachtree Ridge also moved up in the rankings.
New girls Class A-AAAAA No. 2 Northview handed No. 3 Cambridge its first loss of the year last Thursday with a 12-5 final. No. 4 Kell’s win over Blessed Trinity knocked the Titans from the rankings. New No. 10 Marist has come on strong since falling to No. 7 Starr’s Mill. The War Eagles defeated No. 8 St. Pius X to jump into the rankings. Meanwhile No. 7 Woodward Academy defeated No. 9 Columbus 17-8 Friday.
