Knights handle winless Wildcats in finale, 28-0

It wasn’t the year coach Jeff Measor wanted for his young Knights football team, but his team finished the season on a high note, winning two of its last three games. Last Friday, Centennial (3-7) took care of business against winless Wheeler, 28-0. The 28 points were the most scored by the Knights since the team’s 35-9 victory over Northview in the season’s opener. The shutout was the Knights’ first of the season. The Knights’ only loss during the past three weeks came on Oct. 31 at Lassiter. Centennial kept it close throughout, trailing by one score in the third quarter. In the end, however, the Trojans showed too much offensive prowess and pulled away to win 49-24. … The cross country teams competed at the Region 6-AAAAA Meet on Oct. 30 in Acworth. Both teams finished in fourth place. The boys were led by Julian Black, who came in seventh, while Katie June led the girls by finishing third. On Oct. 25, the teams competed at the Carrollton Last Chance Meet. Both teams finished fifth.
