Class AAAAAA No. 7 Peachtree Ridge swept South Forsyth in a first-round playoff series on Oct. 10, 10-2 in Game 1 and 14-4 in Game 2. Sarah Walker and Quinn Hill earned wins for the Lions. Walker homered and drove in four in Game 1 while Andie McGregor had four RBIs in Game 2. Peachtree Ridge will host No. 5 Lassiter in a best-of-three series Wednesday.
Pace Academy enters the state playoffs with 15 wins, one more than they totaled in 2010 and 2011 combined. The Knights will travel to Columbus to face Pacelli in the first round of the Class A private school playoffs. Sophomore Lauren Hadley has led the Knights with a .424 batting average and 33 runs this season while also driving in 15. In the circle, another sophomore, Lane Dikeman leads Pace Academy with 11 wins.
