Mill Creek’s Kaleb Kim is a highly-touted offensive lineman. He has helped the Hawks start off the 2013 campaign with a 3-0 record, outscoring opponents 127-41. Kaleb has been embarrassing defenders, literally tossing them away from the ballcarriers. At 6-foot-4, 274 pounds, Kaleb is an intimidating force that most defenders should probably shy away from.
Before his junior year, he already had offers from Tennessee and Miami (OH). Kim has also been showing schools what they’re missing out on by going to camps over the summer.
“I went to a bunch,” he said. “Texas A&M, Florida State, Georgia… kind of all over the place,” That is a tally of 2,400 miles of traveling this summer just for those three camps.
Football is a full-time job that Kim works on six days a week, but he is still doing his best to find time to help the Mill Creek community.
“Every chance that I don’t have homework or anything, I like to come to these practices,” Kaleb said about going to youth team practices.
He jokingly said that he attends youth practices to see who’s coming up behind him eyeing his spot, so to speak. If he’s not playing football or coaching football, you can find Kaleb at the lake fishing or hunting with his friends and family.
He is practicing five days a week, then playing for Mill Creek on Friday, but Kaleb still can’t get enough football. Many people would run out of steam after committing that much time to the sport, but for Kaleb ,his passion is football and the majority of his focus is studying the game while helping those around him learn and appreciate it.
His love for football and respect of the game has helped Kaleb become a hard-working, intelligent player with a bright future ahead of him. Somehow, he still manages to find the time to maintain an impressive 3.4 GPA. He is unsure of what he wants to study in college or what to do as far as a career goes. All he knows is that he wants football to be a big part of his life for as long as possible.
