Jacobs hits the century mark running as the Panthers rout the Cougars

The football team welcomed Chattahoochee to the Jungle as the Panthers sought the team’s first win of the year. Running back Brandon Jacobs, an Auburn commit, chipped in with nearly 200 yards and TaRon Squires matched the rushing total, as the two helped Parkview’s offense scorch the ‘Hooch 49-12. The Panthers rotated quarterbacks to the tune of 8-for-9 passing, with senior Clayton Wilkin showing no ill-effects of last season’s leg injury on a 32-yard touchdown toss. Jacobs tallied three scores. Squires had two touchdowns in the win, and his presence on defense rattled Chattahoochee quarterback Brendan Cross into a rough day. … Despite a standout performance from Libby Lukens, the volleyball team dropped two matches to Starr’s Mill and Woodward Academy last week. Lukens had 12 digs for the Panthers while Lauren Coleman had six kills and Audrey Hipple chipped in with three aces. Lukens was at it again late last week, as the team faced Central Gwinnett. She had 26 assists, leading her teammates to a 2-0 win. Hipple had seven aces in the contest.
