Have you ever wanted to follow along with your favorite high school golfer or golf team with live-scoring and updated leaderboards?
Now, via the GHSA Golf app, powered by iWanamaker, you can.
The app provides online event management, player rosters, live scoring and a rankings hub to cover the whole of the boys and girls GHSA golf seasons. Currently, 73 percent of high school golf teams in the country utilize the iWanamaker app.
“We combine desktop and mobile application technology in partnership with the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) to allow golfers, coaches, athletic directors and spectators from all over the world to view live leaderboards during high school golf tournaments. On game day, scores are entered into our easy-to-use scoring interface to let spectators and competitors keep track of your round in real time,” according to iWanamaker,
There are various levels of access for a fee, including a yearly subscription – for around 30 dollars –which includes access to every tournament. Or, if you only want to follow one event, there is a one-event ticket for five dollars.
Why such a unique name as Wanamaker?
John Wanamaker was a merchant in Philadelphia and founder of the Wanamaker’s chain of department stores. But it was his second son who would become involved with the game of golf and is credited with founding the Professional Golfers’ Association of America which awards the ‘Wanamaker Trophy’ to the winner of the PGA Championship each year.
It can be downloaded on Android via the PlayStore or Apple via the App Store. To see the coaches webinar on the new app, follow the link.
