No. 9 Southwest-Macon rebounded from a 64-56 loss on Tuesday to Effingham County to finish the Washington County Christmas Tournament with a 58-57 win over Jefferson County. The Patriots (9-3) were carried by the usual suspects: senior Justin Slocum and junior Nick Hargrove. Hargrove, a crafty guard who transferred in over the offseason, scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists. 6-foot-6 Justin Slocum finished with a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman Jordan Slocum added 11 points. The elder Slocum is a name to keep an eye on throughout his final high school season. He is averaging 22.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. Hargrove is becoming a household name as well, going for 19.3 points and 5.3 assists on average.

San Antonio Brinson powered No. 9 Thomson as the Bulldogs finished the North Augusta Christmas Tournament 2-1. Brinson poured in 23 points to led the way while Radaren (RJ) Johnson poured in 20 points. Marquez Winfrey added 17 and Darius Turman chipped in 11 points. The Bulldogs face their biggest test of the season on Tuesday against 3A No. 1 Laney.
