ATLANTA–Georgia State will host South Carolina State at the GSU Sports Arena in the annual Bracketbusters event on Saturday, Feb. 20, ESPN and the Colonial Athletic Association announced Monday.
Georgia State and South Carolina State will be meeting for the first time.
“It’s great to be part of the Bracketbusters, and I’m glad we’re at home this year,” said GSU head coach Rod Barnes. “The head coach at South Carolina State, Tim Carter, happens to be one of my dearest friends. I know they are a quality team, and they will play hard and be aggressive. They just don’t have much size, so we will have to prepare for a smaller lineup.”
All 12 CAA teams annually participate in the Bracketbusters weekend. The Panthers have played each year since joining the CAA in 2005-06, and have won their last three appearances, including last year’s victory at Eastern Michigan.
