Grey Knights win easily in opener, 41-13

The football team defeated Jackson 41-13 in the season home opener on Saturday (Jackson was formally known as Southside High School). The Grey Knights will travel to play at Clarkston on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Head coach Ronnie Millen’s bunch will look to continue their recent success, as Grady has had six winning seasons in a row, including a playoff berth in 2006 when the Grey Knights advanced to the state quarterfinals. … The softball team started the season 0-1 with a 17-0 loss to Mays. The team will play at Carver on Thursday and then at Jackson on Wednesday, Sept. 10th. The Lady Grey Knights will look to break a losing streak that goes back to 2006. … The volleyball team is 1-1 on the young season. The team defeated North Atlanta 2-1 on Thursday after falling to Pace Academy 2-0 in the season opener. Grady has home matches against Carver and Therrell on Sept. 9. … The cross country teams will compete in the Altitude Running Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Mercer University. The event is hosted by St. Pius.
