The football team continued its undefeated season by dominating North Atlanta 38-8 on Oct. 3. Junior Cole Moon was again impressive in victory, rushing for 195 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, the defense was also stout. Linebacker Robert Lucisano led the way with 12 tackles. Paul Standard’s team now sits at 6-0 coming off an Oct. 10 bye week. The team returns to action and hits the road to face a dangerous and athletic Washington team this Saturday at Grady Stadium. … The boys cross country team finished sixth at the Alexander Asics Invitational on Oct. 4. Brendan Hoban paced SPX with a time of 16:33. The girls finished seventh behind Kathleen LaPorte’s fourth-place finish. The boys finished second overall at the Walt Disney Invitational on Saturday. Trey Ellis finished in fourth place with a time of 16:22. … The softball team went 3-0 last week, defeating Columbia and North Atlanta each by a score of 15-0. In the Region 5-AAA Championship on Friday, Pius outlasted Riverwood by a score of 3-0. … The volleyball team hosts the 5-AAA Area Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.
