The final GHSA football playoff seeds were locked down Monday night in mini-games across the state.
In Class AAAA, Region 6, Northwest Whitfield beat Pickens 7-6 to earn the region’s No. 3 seed and a first-round game against Cedartown on Friday. Pickens then defeated Southeast Whitfield 7-0 to earn the No. 4 seed and a front-row ticket to the Trevor Lawrence show on Friday against top-seeded Cartersville from Region 5.
In Class AAA, Region 3, Savannah beat Beach 7-0 in the first mini-game and awaited the results of the second game to find out where it would land in the brackets. Windsor Forest beat Beach 10-7, taking the region’s No. 3 seed and will get a first-round game against second-seeded Westside-Macon from Region 4. Savannah, the No. 4 seed, will travel to Peach County. Windsor-Forest earned the third seed because of their regular season win over Savannah.
In Class AA, Region 8, Putnam County defeated Social Circle 7-0 in the first mini-game. In the second game, Monticello defeated Putnam County 3-0 in overtime to earn the region’s No. 4 seed. Monticello will face Rockmart, the No. 1 seed from Region 7.
In Class AA, Region 3, Southwest (Macon) beat Washington County 7-3 and will be the third seed and face Jefferson County, the second seed in Region 4. Washington County then beat Bleckley County 10-9 to take the fourth spot and face Screven County, the No. 1 seed in Region 4.
In Class AA, Region 2, Jeff Davis took the No. 4 seed by defeating Swainsboro 8-6 and will play Thomasville, the top seed from Region 1.
