The GADA (Georgia Athletics Director’s Association) Regions Bank Director’s Cup recognizes athletic departments who have excelled and displayed superior performances throughout the previous GHSA athletics season.
First awarded in the 1999-2000 season, the Cup is presented to the top male and female program as well as the top overall program in each class.
In the states’ highest class (7A) Lambert topped the boys side with 642 points while Walton reigned supreme on the girls side with 706 points. In the overall competition, Lambert led with 1335 points. In Class 6A, Buford led the boys with 592 points and Cambridge topped the girls with 631 points. Buford’s 1209 points led overall ahead of Cambridge (1184).
Starr’s Mill led the Class 5A boys with 635 points and with 1282 points overall, the Panthers edged out Blessed Trinity (1243 points) in the overall race. McIntosh took the girls Cup with 650 points. In Class 4A, Marist swept the competition leading the overall (1453), boys (720) and girls (733) races.
Westminster swept Class 3A with 1479 points overall, 726 points for the boys and 753 points for the girls. Lovett’s 1433 overall points led Pace Academy (1415) overall in Class 2A. Pace led the boys with 735 points and Lovett’s girls led with 705 points.
In Class A Private, Wesleyan led the overall (1265) and boys (658) races while Holy Innocents’ (611) won the girls race ahead of Wesleyan (607). In Class A Public, Commerce swept the race leading the overall (1239), boys (608) and girls (631) races.
