Jack Stanton has been stellar at quarterback for Greater Atlanta Christian all season and is leading one of the better offenses in Class 5A, which is averaging 30+ points in every game except against Pace Academy.
Stanton has thrown 21 touchdowns with only five interceptions this season. One of his best games came against Lovett where he passed for 392 yards and a touchdown. Stanton also had a standout performance on Peachtree Sports Network against Kell, passing for 239 yards and two touchdowns against a great defense.
He is an accurate passer that rarely turns over the ball, and has led the Spartans to an 8-1 record. GAC will host Dalton in the first round in a few weeks. Stanton recently made his commitment to Houston Christian after receiving the offer in October.
“I was talking with their offensive coordinator for a couple of weeks before he offered me,” said Stanton. “I talk with Coach Bachtel consistently. He’s a great man and a great offensive mind. I’m really looking forward to getting coached by him. It was a great feeling. Anytime you get an offer, it’s rewarding because only you really know how much hard work, time, and effort I had put in to receive an offer.”
There were also several factors that went into the school being a great fit; one was comfortability and the other was his faith.
“It was a huge part for me to pick a Christian school. I go to a Christian school and having a good community around me has always been important in growing my faith,” said Stanton. “The coaching staff have shown so much interest and appreciation for me. I really felt like I had a good relationship with their coaches and am truly blessed to be in the spot I am.”
October was a great month for Stanton as he chose where he would spend the next phase of his football career and looks to lead the Spartans deep in the playoffs. Stanton also recently got invited to the prominent Georgia Elite Classic in Rome to showcase his ability and be part of a special event.
