Etowah 28, Milton 10

How the game was won: Etowah scored twice in the second quarter to take a 21-7 lead into halftime, and the Eagles defense held Milton to just 132 total yards.

 Top performers: Patrick Ferris was 7-of-13 passing for 132 yards and threw for three touchdowns, two to Blake Jones of 13 and 20 yards and one to Jackson Sisk of 23 yards, all TD passes coming in the first half. Tyray Devezin rushed for 165 yards and a 29-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Jones finished with 76 yards receiving for the host Eagles.

Northgate 61, Creekside 48

How the game was won: Northgate remained undefeated after getting the best of a shootout with visiting Creekside. A whopping eight lead changes took place from early in the second quarter to midway through the third before the Vikings finally seized control. They took a 37-34 advantage on a Kyle Cater touchdown run, which was followed by a Sawyer Crow fumble recovery of the ensuing kickoff that set up a three-yard scoring dive by Ton Evans. The Seminoles never again got within one possession of Northgate.

Top performers: Cater delivered a 35-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to put the Vikings back on top 17-14 and he finished with four scores on the ground. Evans added his second touchdown run of the night to make it 55-40 in the fourth quarter. The game’s opening kickoff may have been a sign of all the scoring to come, as Northgate’s Turner Hughes took it 75 yards to the endzone. Hughes, who recovered a fumble on defense as well, also hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass from Kyle McLaren to give the Vikings a 31-27 edge at halftime

Johns Creek 24, Centennial 21

How they won: Centennial took a 14-3 halftime lead before Johns Creek used a 21-0 scoring edge in the third quarter to claim a 24-14. Centennial attempted regain the lead with a Casen Conway touchdown pass to Blane Mason with 0.41 seconds left on the clock, but Johns Creek recovered the onside kick to end the game. Johns Creek snapped a three-game losing streak to Centennial and moved to 2-0 in Region 7-AAAAAA.
