Four girls state champions were crowned Saturday at the Rome Tennis Center before rain postponed the remaining in-progress girls matches and cancelled all the boys matches. Cambridge (Class AAAAAA), Chamblee (Class AAAAA), Bleckly County (Class AA) and Telfair County (Class A-Public) were the four champions. In Class AAAAAAA, Lambert led the Milton girls 2-1 before the matches were called and will resume play at Lambert on Monday at 4 p.m.
As for the remaining matches, the North Cobb boys will visit Brookwood on Tuesday for their Class AAAAAAA showdown. Johns Creek hosts Northview in the boys Class AAAAAA and Chamblee is scheduled to face Grady at 2 p.m. this Tuesday in the boys Class AAAAA finals.
In Class AAAA, Woodward Academy will host the North Oconee boys at 4 p.m. on Monday and Marist will host the North Oconee girls at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lovett girls will play at Pace Academy Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and the Lovett boys will play at Pace Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Rockmart boys will host Early County in Class AA, the Brookstone girls will host Walker in Class A-Private and Stratford Academy will play at Paideia this Tuesday in the boys Class A-Private finals.
