Four-Star WR CJ Wiley Commits To Florida State

One of the most heavily coveted receivers in the country made his commitment decision Tuesday afternoon. Wiley made it official where he would spend the next three to four years of his career. In a stunner, Wiley chose Florida State. His three finalists included Florida State, Georgia, and LSU. Here is why he chose the Seminoles.

“They’ve been recruiting me since I was a freshman and I’ve been trusting the process. I feel like I can achieve my goals over there. Every time I go down there it’s a feeling I get,” said Wiley.

Wiley has been building a relationship with Florida State for years and his relationship with WR coach Ron Dugans helped bring him home.

“It means a lot that I can go there and play early and make an impact for the team. Coach Dugans has been recruiting me since freshman year, so he’s watched me grow and develop. I came to his practices and saw him work with the guys. They want to move me all-around, some inside and outside wide receiver. Coach Norvell’s message for the team is to keep on building,” said Wiley.

According to 247Sports Composite, Wiley is a four-star prospect ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver, No. 19 player in Georgia, and No. 136 player nationally. Before committing, Wiley held 31 offers from various Power 4 programs including USC, Auburn, Alabama, Colorado, Florida, and more. Last year, Wiley established himself as one of the best receivers in the country after helping lead Milton to a state championship its first since 2018. Wiley finished with 68 catches for 1,473 yards and 14 touchdowns. One of his best games last season came against region foe West Forsyth. Wiley went off for 254 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Wiley is known for his strong 6-foot-4 frame and big catch radius. When you break down his game you see he can win in one-on-one coverage, is an excellent YAC receiver, and uses his big body to be an unstoppable red-zone threat. Once he gets into the open field he is hard to bring down or slow down. He has gotten even better from last season and showed out in a spring game against Peachtree Ridge scoring two touchdowns.

Wiley runs track and consistently runs sub-11.00 and set multiple PRs this season of 10.91 and 10.83. Wiley had a connection to LSU being his mom and dad were alumni. His dad Chuck Wiley was an all-SEC selection in his three-year career and made first-team all-SEC in 1996 and 1997. For LSU it would have been their second WR commit of the 2025 class after landing Wiley. For Georgia, it would have been their third WR recruit of the 2025 class he has been hot on the recruiting trail after landing Dontrell Glover and flipped the commitment of Isaiah Gibson Tuesday.

Wiley is the first WR commitment for the Seminoles in the 2025 class and is the third four-star they have landed in this cycle. On the football field, he will try to lead Milton to back-to-back state championships for the first time in program history in 2024.
