North Atlanta 4-star edge rusher, senior Chase Linton announced on social media on Wednesday afternoon that has committed to the University of Georgia.
Linton had been committed to Rutgers since June of 2024 before de-committing from the Scarlet Knights two months later in August.
There had been rumors of Georgia being in pursuit of Linton for months, with the Bulldogs offering him in July, only a month after he committed to Rutgers.
“I chose Georgia because it was the best fit for me,” said Linton. “It’s like when you meet family and y’all hit it off like you grew up together. It was more of that with Georgia than other schools. The coaches and all the people I met there aren’t what you hear about in the news and stuff. They’re good people who love football and I relate to that and them a lot.”
Linton is rated as one of the top players in the state at No. 7, a top-five edge rusher in the country and a top-50 player in the country according to 247Sports.
In high school, he also competed in track and field in events such as the triple jump and the shot put.
The star edge rusher recorded 16 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in his senior season while playing for Jamie Aull and the North Atlanta Warriors.
“Chase is a great kid,” said Aull. “One of the hardest workers I’ve been around in 20 years of coaching. He plays with explosion, physicality, and relentless effort. I am so proud and happy for him.”
Linton becomes a member of a 2025 Georgia recruiting class that has continued to beef up its front seven with in-state talent. Highly-ranked players such as Savannah Christian defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, Warner Robins edge rusher Isaiah Gibson, Schley County edge rusher Zayden Walker and now Linton will create a young and up and coming defensive line in the SEC.
