Football team drops game to Roswell; heads to Alpharetta

Even though there was a new coach prowling the sidelines for the Hornets, the Knights’ football team must have felt like it was a rerun of all their recent games against Roswell, as they again fell to their cross-town rivals, this time 30-7. The Hornets held a 13-0 lead late in the second quarter, but seemed to fumble it away right into the hands of the Knights. A fumble on Roswell’s 20-yard line gave the Knights a chance to score with less than one minute left in the half. The team took advantage, scoring on the first play after the turnover with a touchdown pass coming from James Floyd to Jordin Brisker. After gaining the momentum before halftime, the Knights weren’t able to maintain it coming out of the locker room. Roswell scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to give the Hornets the victory. The team travels to Alpharetta on Friday. … The softball team will have a makeup game on Wednesday against Alpharetta. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Aug. 26, but has now been moved to Sept. 10. On the field, the team lost 12-0 to Lassiter in region play on Thursday.
