Football pulls even in region, prepares for first-place Marist

After coming off of a bye week, the football team showed that it is ready for the second half of the season and blanked Lithonia 41-0. The win improved the Wolverines’ record to 3-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Region 6-AAAA. Miller Grove has a big test coming up this Friday when it hosts a Marist team that is tied for the region lead. … The softball team failed to make its region tournament and wrapped up its season at 7-12, but won its last four games of the season, recently defeating Druid Hills 15-0 and Cedar Grove 18-3. Tyler Jackson, Crystal Richmond and Chelsea Bromet were some of the standout performers for the Wolverines on the season. Also, Brianna Charles, who has only been playing softball for two years, had a good season. Head coach Vincent Byams credits the team’s hitting for helping it end the season on a winning streak. With a number of players playing varsity softball for the first time, Miller Grove will look to use its finish this year as a steppingstone for next season.
