Football falls to Stone Mountain; cross country competes in N.C.

The football team was defeated 42-7 by Stone Mountain on Saturday. The squad has struggled on the offensive side of the ball over the last three games, only scoring seven points over that span against athletic defenses. The Vikings will try to get their first win this Saturday against Forsyth Central. They face Lithonia on Oct. 24. … The boys cross country team finished 14th at the Wendy’s Invitational in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 4. John Ewing crossed the finish line in 16:35, which was good for 33rd overall. Charlie Clark was just behind in 53rd, finishing in 16:48. The girls finished 15th overall. Meagan Wetterhall finished 19th in 19:09. … The softball team finished the season with a 4-3 loss to Southwest DeKalb on Oct. 6. The team finished the year at 10-11. … Volleyball concluded its regular season with losses to Meadowcreek and Mill Creek. The Lady Vikings will play in the Area 6-AAAA Tournament this week at Marist and Chamblee.
