Football falls to Southwest DeKalb; volleyball gears up for County Playday

Last Saturday, the football team faced Southwest DeKalb on the road at Hallford Stadium. The stout Panthers defense held Central scoreless throughout the game. Central’s defense was not able to contain Southwest DeKalb and the Bulldogs lost 42-0. The Bulldogs will return home to host the Stone Mountain Pirates on Friday. … The volleyball team won twice on Sept. 9, defeating Southwest DeKalb (25-14, 25-15) and Stone Mountain (25-12, 25-15). The team dropped a pair of matches at the Collins Hill Invitational against McIntosh and North Gwinnett on Thursday. Head coach Chuck Adams is happy with the experience the team gained at the tournament. The Bulldogs have a chance to gain a little more experience this weekend in an intra-county clinic. The girls will face North Forsyth, South Forsyth and then hosts West Forsyth in friendly matches at the Forsyth County Playday. … The softball team won both its matchups last week, beating North Springs 10-2 and Lakeside-DeKalb 8-0. Both matches were region wins, improving the Bulldogs’ overall record to 11-4-1 and keeping them a perfect 3-0 in the region.
