Football ends season with victory over Fayette Co.

It was an uplifting end to the football team’s season under first-year head coach Kenneth Miller, as the Bulldogs defeated Fayette County, 34-30, on Friday night. Leading Tri-Cities was running back Michael Scott, whose 45-yard touchdown run gave the Bulldogs the lead for good late in the fourth quarter. The 34 points scored by the team were the most the Bulldogs had scored all season. The week before, Tri-Cities was shut out by Villa Rica 21-0, ending the Bulldogs’ playoff chances. It wasn’t surprising Villa Rica was able to control the game from the start, but the Bulldogs remaining close most of the game was. All the credit goes on the shoulders of the Tri-Cities defense, which allowed the second-fewest points the Wildcats had scored all season. It wasn’t the first great performance by the defense, which had allowed just a total of 13 points in the last three games. … The boys cross country team competed at the Region 5-AAAA Championship meet on Nov. 1 at Sandy Creek. The Bulldogs finished 13th overall.
