Flowery Branch, GA – Jones County High School Head Football Coach Justin Rogers has been named the Atlanta Falcons Coach of the Week presented by Ford. Coach Rogers is 8-1 this season including wins over Morgan County, Cross Creek, Greenbrier, Grovetown, Lakeside, Houston County, Evans and Academy of Richmond County.
Coach Rogers was named the Middle Georgia Coach of the Year and Citizen of the Year for Jones County in 2014. Coach Rogers was also the Head Coach of the All-Star East and West game in 2014.
In addition to his coaching achievements, Coach Rogers and his football program are actively involved in the community. The players visit the local elementary schools to read to the students and participate in hosting a football camp for the local youth in Jones County. The team is also preparing to start a mentor program with students in the county who are bullied.
“Coach Rogers has brought a lot of life to this community as a highly energetic and positive coach,” said Jones County High School Teacher Melissa Cooper. “He has consistently been a great role model for our players and many of our other students on campus, as well. Anyone who has met him can see his genuine desire to help his students achieve success on the field and in the classroom.”
As Coach of the Week, Coach Rogers will receive a $1,000 grant to use towards his football program, a plaque signed by Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn and suite tickets to the Falcons home game on December 27.
