The Falcons’ Friday Night Lights scrimmage at Peachtree Ridge High School was quite a success as more than 12,000 fans flocked to Gwinnett County to see the Falcons scrimmage. While most of the first team only got a handful of work, several players stood out for their efforts during the event.

Lawrence Sidbury was given a game ball after coming away with two sacks and several other nice plays. The most interesting thing was his shuffling between defensive end and linebacker. Perhaps new defensive coordinator Mike Nolan was offering fans a chance to see a little of what the new-look Falcons will present on defense this season.

Fans were treated before the game to player autographs, an air performance by the Silver Wings and a fan festival complete with interactive games, sponsor activation and a fireworks show. This was the fifth trip to Gwinnett County for the Falcons after also appearing at Norcross, North Gwinnett, Brookwood and Mill Creek. The Falcons will travel to Dalton Monday for Falcons Football Night in Dalton. The Falcons will hold a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans, and the two teams will scrimmage but there will be not tackling or taking anyone to the ground. The practice will not be full speed.
