Falcons add six more rookies on busy second day of NFL Draft

After drafting two players on Day 1, Mississippi defensive tackle Peria Jerry and Missouri safety William Moore, the Falcons added six more rookies on Sunday, finishing with eight overall for the two days.

In the third round, the Birds remained in the secondary, adding San Jose State corner back Chris Owens. Owens, at 5-foot-10, 181 pounds, is an aggressive corner with good overall cover skills. In the fourth round, Atlanta chose Richmond defensive end Lawrence Sidbury before going with Furman corner William Middleton and North Carolina tackle Garrett Reynolds in round five.

The Falcons closed out the draft by selecting a physical, 230-pound linebacker in former Miami Hurricane Spencer Adkins in Round 6 and hometown Yellow Jacket Vance Waker (DT) in the seventh and final round.
