FALCON NO MORE: Veteran LB Keith Brooking becomes free agent; other Falcons on the move

At 12:01 a.m. Friday morning, linebacker Keith Brooking officially became a free agent after negotiations with the Falcons did not result in a new deal. Brooking will suit up for a new team after spending all 11 of his NFL seasons in Atlanta. (In fact, this will be the first time the star plays for a team outside the State of Georgia – the hometown product played high school football at East Coweta and college football at Georgia Tech.)

Brooking is a five-time Pro-Bowler and will leave Atlanta with 1,127 career tackles (879 solo), 17 sacks and 12 interceptions. He was the only remaining player from the Falcons’ 1998 Super Bowl team and was the team leader in tackles for the past eight seasons.
