Ware County lineman Steven Wright is excited about his upcoming senior year. He had a successful junior year in helping lead the Gators to the Region 3-AAAAA title and an appearance in the state quarterfinals.
Despite a successful season on most accounts, Wright wants himself and his team to improve over the offseason.
“We grew as a team this season,” said Wright. “We learned a lot about ourselves and worked hard as a team to get to the third round.”
“This offseason, we need to work hard and learn to play more as a team to have a better season.”
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder was elated when he found out he was chosen to play in the Elite Junior Classic.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Wright. “I am very excited to be a part of it. It should be a great experience.”
After his junior season, Wright, who aspires to be an architect, is hearing the most from Georgia Tech. With a 3.2 GPA, Tech remains a legitimate option for him.
When not on the football field, Wright helps out in the community by staying active with the local youth through church as well as through school. He stresses teamwork and respect when playing games with the kids.
