The football team dropped to 1-1 last Saturday when they fell to Stephenson 43-0. “Their depth really did hurt us,” said Eagles head coach Kevin Latham. “We play a lot of guys both ways. … I can’t talk to the offensive line to make adjustments because they’re also our defensive line.” Despite the numbers of Class 5A’s Stephenson (2-0), Latham still said his players played hard. Among them were running back Brian Holloway, who ran aggressively and quarterback Willie Favors, who showed heart. The Eagles next face North Atlanta on Friday at 7:30 p.m. … Head coach Steve Dennis’s softball team fell to 1-3 last week after losing to Druid Hills 22-7. Druid Hills took the command of the game early as they jumped out to a 16-0 first-inning lead. The Eagles used three pitchers in the inning as they tried to find a rhythm on the mound. “They’re hard workers, they’re doing the best they can,” Dennis said of his team. “But the [thing about] softball is you have got to have some pitching.” They will visit Clarkston on Thursday.
