Eagles’ QB almost flawless through the air in upset win

On Sept. 26, the Eagles defeated North Forsyth 49-28 to upset the Raiders’ homecoming celebration. Quarterback Michael Box went 15 for 25 with 227 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Charles Perkins rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. T he Eagles were off last Friday, but play at Duluth this Friday. … The softball team defeated Northview 1-0 in 11 innings last Wednesday in the first round of the Region 7-AAAAA Tournament. On Thursday, the Lady Eagles lost to North Gwinnett 2-1 in eight innings. Lauren Reader pitched all eight innings. … The volleyball team defeated Grayson and Peachtree Ridge, while losing to Wesleyan in the Gwinnett County Tournament. A loss to Norcross in the quarterfinals on Sept. 27 eliminated the Eagles from the tournament. Last Thursday, the team lost to Brookwood (25-18, 23-25, 25-15). … The boys and girls cross country teams both finished second in the McDonald’s Cross Country Festival on Sept. 27 in Richmond, Va. The boys finished second in the Wesleyan Invitational last Tuesday. Danny Cook led the team with a time of 17:36.
