It was a display of domination by the Panthers football team in its 42-0 win over Forsyth Central last Saturday. Southwest DeKalb had two rushers run for over 100 yards as Michael D. Johnson and Kendrun Malcome both eclipsed the century mark. Johnson finished with two touchdowns on the ground and was on the receiving end of a Daniel Litt touchdown pass. Head coach Buck Godfrey praised his team’s execution on offense and complimented the defense. The Panthers (2-1) will take on Lakeside-DeKalb next Friday at Adams Stadium. As was the case against Forsyth Central, the Panthers expect to play a lot of players against the Vikings. … The boys cross country team ran at the Marist Double Dip last week. The team finished 12th overall and had three runners place in the top 50. Andrew Menjor finished 35th, Jared Williams finished 49th and Ed Austin finished 50th. … The softball team got off to a 5-3 start thanks to the pitching of Imani Gayle. Gayle got all five of the Panthers victories, while compiling a county-leading ERA of 1.67.
