Dawgs nab SW DeKalb star; Vick to team up with Boys & Girls Clubs

The latest to join Georgia’s class of 2014 is top prospect Kendrun Malcolme. The running back from Southwest DeKalb made strong connections with coaches, Mark Richt, Rodney Garner and Bryan McClendon during his recruitment, which ultimately led to UGA gaining his trust and commitment to the school’s program. According to Malcome, he chose the Dawgs because of the overall atmosphere and campus, as well as the coaches and great players. He joins Alec Ogletree, Brent Benedict and Da’Rick Rogers as the latest players to commit to UGA.

Former Falcon quarterback Michael Vick is leaving his job as a construction worker in order to team up with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Virginia. Having held the construction job in compliance with the terms of his probation, Vick looks forward to the more rewarding job of working with youngsters on health and fitness. Vick is currently in house arrest for the last two months of his two-year sentence for dogfighting and is likely to give creditors more of his future earnings with a new bankruptcy plan soon to be enacted.

Falcons safety Antoine Harris had a minor surgical procedure performed recently on his groin area, but should be ready to go by training camp according to his agent. Harris played in 12 games last season before suffering a groin injury. He was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 9. The surgery and the previous injury were unrelated.
