North Atlanta has made history throughout the last two seasons and has an opportunity to continue the trend in what can only be described as the biggest regular season game in program history Thursday night against Marist. Last season, North Atlanta reached a school-record 4-0 start before a non-region loss to Wheeler and then scored a 30-17 win over Lovejoy in the first round of the playoffs to capture the school’s first-ever postseason victory and win eight games in a season for the first time. The Warriors fell 41-31 in the second round to Houston County and the focus turned to the 2023 season and the momentum carried the program throughout the offseason.
This season, North Atlanta has notched more milestones and is 7-0 for the first time in school history. The team avenged last year’s Wheeler loss with a 30-22 victory and are set to play Marist with an opportunity strive towards their first-ever region title. Additionally, North Atlanta is 0-3 all-time against Marist and so this will also be an opportunity to beat Marist for the first time.
North Atlanta is lighting up the scoreboard with 42.43 ppg and is allowing just 12.86 ppg for a 29.57 average margin of victory over the course of its 7-0 start. Marist is also red-hot and has won six-straight since its 34-26 loss to No. 1 ranked Gainesville in its season opener. Marist has opened up Region 4 play with a 45-7 win over Dunwoody and a 49-0 victory over South Cobb and hasn’t lost a region game since 2019 to Blessed Trinity—resulting in a 17-game region win-streak heading into its showdown with North Atlanta.
