Class 5A is emerging as one of the most intriguing classifications after the first three weeks of action and a major reason is the arrival of Miami-commit Judd Anderson to Warner Robins this past week. Anderson transferred from Jones County and made a strong first-impression on Friday as the Demons rallied to beat rival Northside-Warner Robins 39-35. Anderson entered the game with his new team trailing 21-5 in the second quarter.
From that point, Anderson finished the game 14-of-22 passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to this storyline, defending state champion Ware County remains in championship form with a 3-0 start and teams like Creekside, Cartersville, Coffee and Hiram have all earned major wins so far. Additionally, Kell has bounced back from a season-opening loss to Parkview with back-to-back wins, despite their starting quarterback Bryce Clavon competing for the US National Baseball Team. Will Clavon respond and how will Anderson impact Warner Robins? These are just two storylines as the battle for the state championship heats up in Class 5A.
