Cougars win first game, take on Norcross Friday

The football team recorded its first win of the year, a region victory over South Forsyth 47-28. Brendan Cross threw for three scores and ran for three more. He finished the night one yard shy of the century mark on the ground. Although the Cougars lost their first three games, the team now sits in a tie for first place atop the region standings going into a game against Norcross this Friday. … The volleyball team swept Blessed Trinity and Woodward Academy on Thursday. The Lady Cougars took out the Titans (25-17, 25-15) and followed that up with a high-intensity victory over Woodward Academy (26-24, 25-21). Although both teams are in a lower classification, each provided plenty of competition for the Lady Cougars. … The softball team has won two games in a row, defeating Milton and North Forsyth last week. The Lady Cougars beat Milton on Wednesday, 19-11, and North Forsyth on Thursday, 7-6. The team celebrates Senior Night on Thursday against Northview before competing in the Milton Invitational over the weekend.
