Corky Kell broadcast schedule set for all nine games

With a new television and digital partner in Atlanta as well as a new radio partner in Macon, the 2017 MetroPCS Corky Kell Classic kicks off this year for its 26th season.

It starts Thursday night at Five Star Stadium on the campus of Mercer University in Macon and will continue into the weekend at Georgia State Stadium (formerly Turner Field) in Atlanta with two games Friday night and five games Saturday. The Classic is considered by many to be the premier high school football kickoff event in the nation.

There are numerous ways to watch the action.

All games will be available digitally on the web on the 11Alive app as well as Facebook live on the 11Alive Facebook page and the National Federation of High School Associations Network at NFHSNetwork.com.

Games Thursday in Macon at Mercer will be broadcast locally on television on WMAZ’s Justice Network, which can be found on Comcast (Channel 234), Cox (Channel 113), Charter (Channel 13.3) and ComSouth (Channel 13.3). Thursday’s games will also be broadcast in Atlanta on Bounce TV on Comcast (Channel 244) and Charter (Channel 188). In Macon, the games can be found on the radio on Fox Sports AM 1670, through the iHeartRadio app and SportsMic.com.

The first Thursday game, Lee County vs. Mary Persons, begins at 5:15 p.m. with the second game between Houston County and Jones County following 30 minutes later.

The two Atlanta games on Friday and four out of five games on Saturday at Georgia State Stadium will be broadcast on WATL Channel 36 (myATL) and all five games streamed live through the 11Alive app and on Facebook Live on the WXIA Channel 11 Facebook page as well as the NFHS Network. The 9 a.m. game on Saturday will be shown Sunday at 1 p.m. on WATL Channel 36 (myATL). Radio listeners in Atlanta can tune into 92.9 The Game for coverage of the Friday and Saturday games.

On Friday, South Forsyth vs. Roswell will kick off at 5:30 p.m. The second game, Buford vs. Hillgrove, will start 30 minutes later or no earlier than 8:30.

On Saturday, the action starts at 9 a.m. with Kell vs. Tucker. The broadcast on WATL Channel 36 will begin at 11:30 a.m. and may show the end of the Kell-Tucker game. The remaining games will be between Archer and Brookwood at 11:45 a.m, Colquitt County and Norcross at 2:45 p.m., Mill Creek and McEachern at 5:45 p.m. and the finale will feature North Gwinnett and Walton at 8:45 p.m.

All games, Atlanta and Macon, will have ESPN-like Gamecast play-by-play coverage at www.scoreatl.com and www.corkykell.com, along with full game recaps.
