Colquitt’s Gregory brothers top boys podium, girls Hart and Deloach place for Packers at GHSA Diving Championships

Tuck Gregory has all the reason to rib his brother Trip just a bit Tuesday evening.

Tuck, who led the Packers to four podium finishes at the GHSA Diving Championship at Westminster in Atlanta, scored 757.55 points to beat his brother Trip’s second-place 669.55 point effort. Miles Gravitt of North Gwinnett scored 524.25 points to finish third in the 6A boys diving championship.

In the girls Class 6A competition, Colquitt County divers Jewel Hart and Kendall Deloach headlined the podium. Hart scored 613.45 points in first place in a tight competition that was only separated by 11 points from first to third place. Leah McCarthy of Mill Creek finished in second place with 607.85 points. Deloach’s 602.42 point-effort earned a third-place finish.

For the second-straight season, R.J. Snyder of Woodward Academy took home first place in Class 5A after a 698.70-point performance. Riverwood’s David Randolph had 636.65 points and placed second while Loganville’s Gabriel Ledon scored 554.90 points on his way to a third-place finish. Jackson County diver Alyssa Pace scored 462.40 points on her way to a first place finish in the Class 5A girls state championship. Sprayberry’s Essie Wisniewski’s had 452.65 points and was followed by Evelyn Nichols of Kennesaw Mountain, who scored 193.35 to take the final spot on the podium.

In the Class 4A boys competition, Emanuel Pitts won first place after a 617.9-point effort, marking East Forsyth’s only first-place finish after defeating St. Pius X diver, Ryland Gummere and Westminster diver, Trevor Dempsey. Gummere posted a score of 568.8 to finish in second for the second season in a row followed by Dempsey’s finish in third, scoring 497.6.

Brooklyn Petit was able to improve upon her second-place finish in the Class 4A girls state championships with a first place finish this season. Petit finished with a score of 659.80 points, almost 200 points higher than the second place finish from a season ago. Ella Anthony of Westminster finished second, scoring 484.65 points followed by Elle Seever of Centennial finishing with 446.35 points.

It was a narrow competition in the 1A-3A boys diving state championship as first and third place were separated by just 13 points. Holy Innocents’ diver Trevor Sewell came out on top, scoring 515.95 points to lead Jacob Bass of Lovett (512.6 points) and Russell Offutt of Calhoun (502.4).

Wesleyan’s Abbey Suits defended her Class 1A-3A state championship and improved 80 points from last year’s effort to take home the top spot on the podium. Two seasons ago in 2023, Suits finished in second place in the event before back-to-back first-place finishes. Suits’ 659.80 points were more than enough to secure her second-consecutive diving state championship, followed by Atlanta International’s Betsy Parker’s 484.65 points in second place followed by Eleanor Pichetto’s third place finish, scoring 499.05 points.
