Marietta 38, Pebblebrook 7
How the game was won: Marietta used an overwhelming air attack in the first half to take the suspense out of its home game against Pebblebrook almost right away. Harrison Bailey completed 12 of 23 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns prior to halftime. Pebblebrook at least made the second half respectable by using up 9:24 off the clock during a 17-play touchdown drive, but the Falcons could not get any closer than 31-7.
Top performers: With the game already out of hand in the Blue Devils’ favor, Bailey attempted only one pass in the second half–a 65-yarder to DeWayne Smith that set up a one-yard touchdown plunge by Malachi Diggs. Bailey finished 12-for-24 with 277 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He tossed a trio of 43-yard scoring strikes, two into the hands of Ramel Keyton and one to Daniel Charles. Austin Cryer added a one-yard touchdown run for Marietta, while Luke Mozley kicked a 24-yard field goal and tacked on all five PATs.
West Forsyth 56, Hillgrove 35
How the game was won: With plenty of offense to go around, West Forsyth put up six first half touchdowns, taking a commanding 42-21 lead at half. Hillgrove would manage to pull within two touchdowns, but the damage had been done and a late Wolverine touchdown put the game out a reach.
Top Performers: West Forsyth senior running back and linebacker Grant Torgerson undoubtedly stole the show with five rushing touchdowns, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Woodstock 49, Kennesaw Mountain 25
How the game was won: Woodstock got five touchdown passes from quarterback Garrett Bass and led Kennesaw Mountain 42-17 at half on its way to a road win.
Top performers: Bass threw two touchdown passes to Noah Frith, one to Ethan Chamberlin, one to Louis Hall and one to Liam Byrne. Ryan Martin had a long touchdown run for the Wolverines and Brandon Onuschak capped scoring with a one-yard run in the third quarter. Corey Smith had an interception and Alden Krapf had a fumble recovery for Woodstock.
Sprayberry 47, Campbell 13
How the game was won: Sprayberry got two rushing scores each from London Roberson and Trey Sermon to rout Campbell in a road win, leading 34-7 at half.
Top performers: Roberson started scoring for the Yellow Jackets with a 30-yard QB keeper and later scored on a 25-yard run. Roberson also threw a 60-yard TD touchdown pass to Abay Holmes and converted two two-point conversions. Sprayberry was successful on all three two-point conversions it attempted, with DJ Worthy converting the other. The Sprayberry defense also had an interception and two blocked punts.
