How the game was won: Allatoona quarterback Tate Tatum scored on a QB sneak before the half to cut the host Buccaneers’ deficit to 14-10. After a scoreless third quarter, Tatum found the endzone on his second rushing touchdown with 4:58 left to give Allatoona its first lead of the game 17-14. Two and a half minutes later, Sandy Creek answered as Bryant Walker tossed a game-winning touchdown pass to Minnesota-commit Javan Hawes. After carrying a 14-game winning streak into the season, the Buccaneers have fallen to 0-3 for the first time since 2009.
Top performers: Sandy Creek quarterback Bryant Walker through touchdown passes to Parker Mallet and Javan Hawes. Jaelen Greene scored on a 5-yard touchdown run with 5:01 left in the half to put the Patriots up 14-3. Allatoona also found scoring with Syler Davis first quarter field goal.
Lassiter 24, Kell 9
How the game was won: Down 9-0, Lassiter got on the scoreboard with a touchdown with8:41 to play in the third quarter and scored 24 unanswered points for the road rivalry win.
Top performers: Mason Waters scored all three touchdowns for the 3-0 Trojans, rushing for a three-yard score in the third quarter and 35- and three-yard scores in the fourth. His first score was set up by a long kick return by Taz Holt, and his final score came several plays after Myles Williams recovered a Kell fumble deep in Longhorns territory. Carsten Link hit a 42-yard field goal to give Lassiter its first lead of the game at 10-9.
Sprayberry 23, Kennesaw Mountain 15
How the game was won: Tied 7-7 at halftime, host Sprayberry took the lead with a safety but fell behind 15-9 after a Kennesaw Mountain touchdown and two-point conversion. Sprayberry regained the lead for good with two rushing touchdowns from quarterback London Roberson.
Top performers: Roberson scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 60-yard run to give Sprayberry a 16-15 lead and scored on a one-yard sneak to seal the game. Oklahoma commit Trey Sermon scored on a 10-yard run and had an interception on defense. Defensive end Kevin Richardson forced the safety in the third quarter. Roman DeBerry also had an interception for the Yellow Jackets.
Harrison 25, North Cobb 13
How the game was won: The Hoyas improved to 3-0 with their final non-region game against North Cobb. Harrison, behind the arm of Justin Fields, had a 15-6 lead at half. North Cobb pulled closer in the third quarter, only trailing 15-13, before Harrison clinched the game with 10 unanswered points.
Top Performers: Harrison quarterback Justin Fields had two touchdown passes on the night, both connecting with Steve Peterson.
