Joakim Noah is quickly becoming one of my favorite NBA players to listen to and watch on a nightly basis. He is not bashful about expressing his opinions on players and cities and everything in between. You have to admire a guy who will not bow down to the best player in the NBA.
While everyone else is busy worshiping the ground LeBron James walks on, Noah is busy trashing his city and pretty much letting it be known that he’s not star struck by the self-proclaimed King. I absolutely love it! The NBA needs more players who have a healthy disdain for one another. It would be better if it were two superstars, but at this point we’ll just have to take what we can get. Obviously, Noah’s Bulls are at a disadvantage in the series against Cleveland, but he wants the world to know that he is not just there to be a "witness".
FIGHTIN’ MAD …
Speaking of disdain, there was a report that Chicago Bulls GM John Paxson and head coach Vinny Del Negro got into some sort of an altercation. No one has been disciplined yet, so it appears Commissioner Stern is content to let the Chicago Bulls organization handle the matter privately. Stern usually rules with an iron fist when there’s an issue surrounding the players, and he should do the same thing when executives and coaches have problems.
It’s not a good situation to have two middle-aged men trying to jack each other up, even if no one saw it. Neither has denied that the altercation happened; therefore one would assume there’s enough circumstantial evidence to prompt some sort of an investigation by league officials. Unless the Bulls pull off a major upset this week, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Del Negro is still coaching that team next season. It’s obvious the relationship has deteriorated to the point that Paxson and Del Negro should no longer work together.
Anytime your boss wants to literally strangle you, you’ve likely overstayed your welcome. It would be in everyone’s best interests if they went their separate ways.
